In 2011 the Tesla Orchestra produced the Open Spark Project, an opportunity for musicians around the world to have their music played through pure electricity.
Musical entries arrived from several countries and were converted into musical lightning bolts on the world’s largest twin musical tesla coils.
This unusual online concert was featured by Wired, BoingBoing, Forbes, NPR, PitchFork, Huffington Post, Laughing Squid, Hackaday, and others, while over 50,000 people tuned in to watch the show.
Many thanks to Paul Buchheit (inventor of GMail) for funding this project.
